Web Site Status

This page is dedicated to providing the SCC Members with an running status or update on the activities with regard to the web site growth, enhancements, and corrective action where appropriate.

One of the major areas of distinction between our site, SCC is the level of communication that we try to maintain with all the members.

October 14, 2006 Membership financial support is starting to come in now. As of today, we have received contributions and dues from 8 of our members and we thank you all.

September 6, 2006, update As of today, we are testing a segment of our new membership application. This application will be primarily for registration of actual members of the Senior Citizens Consortium organization.  We are considering the aspect of a special members portal that will be restricted to registered members only.  This member's portal will link access to our special features and will have information of special note to SCC members only.

Testing is expected to continue for a few more days, perhaps an additional week, to ensure that we have a viable and secure system.  All information within this membership system will be fully protected and will not be provided to anyone without specific WRITTEN permission of a member.

August 5, 2006, update.. As of this date, we are still stumped with the actual reason for the mishaps where threads and entries disappeared. We still are working to identify the cause, but it is my suspicion that the problem stemmed from an incompatibility between the implementation either the chat room or the blog software. We will continue to research this, and hopefully we will find an answer.

If anyone encounters the situation again, please contact us as soon as you possibly can. You can always send an email to the email address, executivedirector@maturecommunications.com and it will be received and answered.

You will probably note that I have implemented a scroller or crawler news link on the right side of our home page.  This currently has some STUFF in it and I am hoping that we can get the members to contribute items for the scroller as well as our newest feature, the SCC NEWS. I have placed some newsy stuff in this feature as well. I would beseech you all to consider contributing a few words, news of you or your family, a new grandbaby, etc. If you want, you can also email a picture along with the news item.

Once I have received your news item, and any pictures, I will set up the entry with your byline and the content. This could be very fun and interesting. We can learn more about our friends on the boards. So, send me an email and let's print some good stuff about all of us. A prime example is the brand new grand baby in NEActuary's family.

August 6, 2006 new item - As of this morning, I have reinstalled the software for our capability to blog and to have a chat room facility.  I am currently testing these packages and hope that we can safely use them without creating a problem with our forum functions.

I still don't know for sure about the interaction of the blog and chat software with our forum package, but am continuing to look into it.  I replaced the old blog software with a new version.  Unfortunately, the only option for chat facilities is the old one.  If that creates a problem with the forums, I will simply take it down and begin the search for chat software outside the Web Host capabilities.

More on these packages as I feel comfortable with their functions.  Please take note of the home page menu, as these features come online, I will hightlight the menu item in red font.
